From the Studio...

Most recently I have been emersing cloth and garments in wax. 'Freezing' them in time and hanging them in space. Have been feeling somewhat like a kitten chasing shinning things in terms of what I am making.
Frustrating.
Been looking at Baroque paintings and sculptures.
See the influence?

Caravaggio "St. Matthew and the Angel"

Bernini "Ectasy of St. Teresa"
Here is a slip....rust printed and dipped in wax.

My first attempt in dying felt.
An awesome experience!
Dyed them in Ball canning jars.
Looked like little color jars of guts.

Some rusty things I recieved today from a new friend.
Today was like Christmas!

  1. I really love that you have this blog to update everyone about your life! It's so interesting to see what things you are working on and what inspires you for your works! I had a wonderful time at the Zombie fashion show even though:
    1. I had to lie about my age to get into the bar...we were so sneaky!
    2. Get freaked out because the Insane Clown Posse concert was down the block...I hate clowns and everyone had their faces painted Freakily.
    3. We walked...PROBABLY a mile to get to Pita Pit...when REALLY it was down ONE block the opposite direction.. ha ha h :)

I had a lovely weekend! I can't wait to see you again!
    LOVE LOVE LOVE-Amy

  2. P.S.....#4...our TWEEKER friend in front of us by the run way that made these lovely comments:
"Just punch me if I'm in your way"
    "I got yo back girl"
"Is your friend coming back? I will save her space. I got your back"

Ha ha. And he was practically making out with his gf in front of us. And he was frantically writing on the card in front of us...scribbling obsessively...while they were smoking the smallest cigar thing I have ever seen...might have been a joint. But who knows??? lol

Love Love LOVE you again... :)
