Colossions 3:5 " Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which in idolatry."
Psam 145: 16 "You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing."
Psalm 104.

Here is a poem I found.
I often remember this when I feel not beautiful enough.
Souls
My soul goes clad in gorgeous things,
Scarlet and gold and blue;
And at her shoulder sudden wings
Like long flames flicker through.
And she is shallow-fleet, and free
From mortal bonds and bars.
She laughs, because Eternity
Blossoms for her with stars!
O folk who scorn my stiff gray gown,
My dull and foolish face,-
Can ye not see my Soul flash down,
A singing flame through space:
And folk, whose earth-stianed looks I hate,
Why may I not divine
Your souls, that must be passionate,
Shining and swift, as mine!

1 John 2:16-17 "For all that is in the worl-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions- is not from the Father but is from the world.
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever."
1 Samuel 12:21 "And do not turn aside after empty things that cannot profit or deliver, for they are empty."
Psalm 9:1 " I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds."Hosea 6:6 " For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings."
Psalm 51.
Proverbs 22 :17-18 "Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise,
and apply your heart to my knowledge,
for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips."
About Jesus. Isaiah 53:2-3
"..he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief and as one whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not."

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Acts 18:9-10 " And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, "Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you , and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people."

John 6:35 "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thrist."

The Beautitudes
Matthew 5

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 " But he said to me, "My grace is sufficiant for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Colossians 1 :11 " May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy,"

Philippians 1:6 "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring in to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

Ezekiel 16: 8-14
This portion of scripture related to Jerusalem.
Yet it is one of my favorites beacause I think that maybe this is how God sees us individually.

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heat, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways sknowledge him and he will make straight your paths."

2 Corinthians 5:14 "For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this; that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised."

Ezekiel 36:26 "And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will pur within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."

This is my response. Stolen from someone else of course! :)

Finally.....

in regards to the latter lie..... See Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Your relationship will look different as your life goes on. The real question.... Are you staying close to your God?
The one who gives pure joy and what is holding you back?

When talking of Jesus.... " He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power."

"After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hands of the Majesty on high."

Hebrews 12: 2 "let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."

Romans 8:6 "To set your mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."

Parable of the Sower Matthew 13:22 "As for what was sown among throns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful." Don't just hear the word, cling to it.

Psalm 37: 5 "Commit your way to the Lord;

trust in him and he will act...

7 "Be still fefore the Lord and wait patiently for him;

Fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,"

Hebrews 10:24-25 " And let us consider how to stir one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together , as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another , and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God."

Apology...

So i last posted lies on.....monday........hummm. Sufice it to say this week has been a blur.
I have been praying for you all still though and it has been hard to do that.
Why is it so hard to do the things we should and the things that ultimately give us the most joy?
Instead we do the dull things.
We sleep in when we should be riding our bikes.
We keep our mouths shut when we should be shouting at the top of our lungs.
We keep people out of our lives becasue genuine love is almost always inefficient...
I am guilty.
Perhaps I am not alone....?

Thoughts from last Night...Catherine Chronicles from 2 a.m.

So, last night I laid the handful of lies for that day at my feet.
This particular group of lies was especially impactful.
There were small and big pieces.
Fragments of the lives they belonged to.
There were declarations and confessions.
This collection brought me to tears.
When it talks in the New Testament about how Jesus saw the crowd and he had compassion on them.... He was troubled in his heart.
He was moved to tears and to action.
I felt a tiny fraction of that staring at my bed covered in lies.
So to all of you who sent me these, thank you.....
I will be praying that you will believe them NO LONGER!
